Shortly after he met recent New Jersey transplant\, and bouzouki player\, Richie Rosencrans and California native\, and uilleann piper\, Preston Howard at sessions around Portland. All three were eager to start a project and discovered common interests in regard to traditional music. After a few house gatherings\, a weekly performance began at local watering hole the East Burn. SUMMARY:All-Ireland Cultural Society's Annual Picnic
DESCRIPTION:The annual picnic will be held on August 19\, 2018\, at St. Birgitta’s Picnic Grove\, 11820 NW St. Helens Road in Portland.  Time is from noon to 4 p.m.  Hamburgers\, hot dogs and beverages will be provided.  Please bring your favorite salad or dessert.  There will be games\, prizes and fun.  Plenty of parking and no stairs to climb.  All are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:Join the Genealogy group at 6 p.m. Short business meeting starts at 7 p.m. followed by a social time.  The highlight of the evening is Mr. Tim Birr giving a presentation on St. Patrick.  Tim has given fabulous presentations in the past and we are sure this is going to be another good one. \nThe evening will end with a raffle in support of St. Birgitta’s Church.  First prize is 2 tickets to the Shamrock Cruise for Sunday\, March 11\, 2018.  The cruise will be on the Portland Spirit on the Willamette from 3 to 5 p.m.  Music and step dancing will be on all levels and food and beverages will be available for purchase.  These tickets were donated by S & A irishpdx.com. \nCall 503-286-4812 for more details.

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Christmas party will be held on December 2\, 2017 at the Wahkeena Room of the Holiday Inn\, 8439 NE Columbia Boulevard in Portland.  The social time begins at 12:30 p.m.  A turkey meal with all the trimmings will be served at 1 p.m.  There will be live entertainment\, a very fun game\, and everyone will leave with a gift.  The cost to All-Ireland Cultural Society members is $28; non-members $30.  Please mail your check by November 18th to AICS\, P.
