Irish Night at Corrib Theatre

Gemma Whelan’s newest play, “Quietly” will be having an Irish night on Friday, April 27, 2018.  The All-Ireland Cultural Society will supply refreshments including Owen Roe wine.

Quietly will run on Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through May 6.  The venue for this play is the New Expressive Works, 810 SE Belmont Street in Portland.  Gemma Whelan is the director and the actors are Murri Lazaroff-Babin, Tim Blough, and Ted Rooney.

Quiety is a powerful story of violence and forgiveness in the aftermath of the Troubles.  Two middle-aged men meet in the very Belfast bar where a horrific event transformed their lives over 30 years before.  They share a few pints, a football match between Northern Ireland and Poland playing on tv, as the Polish bartender experiences these men unload their disparate stories of a day ever etched in their psyches.

Tickets are available on www.brownpapertickets.com.
